Shamir Bhimani is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP Life Reinsurance Company of Canada (Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP Canada). In this role, he leads the Finance, Corporate Actuarial, and Legal teams at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP Canada and collaborates on the development of strategic and reinsurance solutions for clients.
Shamir has nearly 20 years of experience in the life insurance industry. He joined Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP in 2015 and during his tenure has assumed roles of increasing responsibility. In 2022, he joined the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP Canada Business Development team, where he worked closely with clients to identify and develop reinsurance opportunities in Canada across Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP’s Financial Solutions product lines.
Shamir attended the University of Calgary, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Actuarial Science. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA).
