Ryan Hultzer is Head of Product Development, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia Markets. He leads Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP’s team of product development actuaries to develop novel insurance products for Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP’s clients, that achieve industry-leading results while ensuring profitability and steadfast risk management practices.
Before joining Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP in 2023, Ryan was Head of Annuity Pricing for Just Retirement Life Ltd., a South African life annuities insurer, where he ensured competitive pricing of traditional and with-profit annuities for retail clients and bulk pension funds, and managed teams of actuaries and medical underwriters. Before that, Ryan spent six years with Munich Re as an actuary, manager for the individual life pricing team, asset liability management liaison, and a trustee of the Munich Re of Africa pension fund. Ryan started his career as product development business analyst with Allan Gray, Africa's largest privately owned investment management company.
Ryan earned a Bachelor of Business Science in Actuarial Science and Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, and is a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA). He is a longtime volunteer with SCOUTS South Africa and currently volunteers as a swim coach for underprivileged adults, and as a crisis counselor with a global mental health nonprofit.
