Peter Banthorpe is Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Risk Officer for Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP). He is responsible for Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP¡¯s global enterprise risk management efforts covering both financial and non-financial risks.
Peter has broad experience within Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP, having previously served as Managing Director of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP¡¯s UK and Irish business. Before that, he led Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP¡¯s Global Research and Data Analytics group, a team of 60 actuaries and data scientists supporting Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP¡¯s global operations. Peter joined the company in 2010 as Head of Actuarial Research for Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP UK.
Before joining Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP, Peter was Head of Pricing and Reinsurance for Ageas Protect (formerly Fortis). He was one of its first employees and a member of the company¡¯s senior management team, and led the development of its actuarial, management information, and reinsurance capabilities from startup until several years after launch.
Peter is a graduate of Cambridge University and qualified as an actuary in 2003. Over his career, he has actively volunteered within the UK actuarial profession, including serving as a long-standing member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries¡¯ (IFoA) CMI Executive Committee and chairing the IFoA¡¯s mortality research steering committee.
